RANGE OF SERVICES: NECK
Swallowing disorders occur most frequently in the context of acute infections. An endoscopic examination should be carried out both to assess whether the infection is viral or bacterial in origin and therefore whether an antibiotic may be required, as well as in the case of persistent swallowing disorders of other causes.
A disturbing foreign body sensation (globus sensation) can also be investigated in this way.
Voice disorders (e.g. hoarseness) that persist for longer than 2 weeks should definitely be examined endoscopically. An examination with a flexible endoscope via the nose can be helpful here, especially in the case of a strong gag reflex.
If necessary, we can also carry out a sonographic examination of the soft tissues of the neck, in particular the lymph nodes and salivary glands.
